IRS filing extension applies to taxpayers in counties affected in South Carolina.

South Carolina Income Tax Filing Deadline

The regular deadline to file a South Carolina state income tax return is April 15.

ATTENTION: If you filed an extension and are affected by the October 2015 floods, the IRS extended your tax return and tax payment deadline from October 15, 2015 to February 16, 2016. The IRS will also reduce any interest, late-payment or late-filing penalties that apply to you. This new deadline applies to taxpayers in the following counties: 

  • Berkeley
  • Calhoun
  • Charleston
  • Clarendon
  • Darlington
  • Dorchester
  • Florence
  • Georgetown
  • Horry
  • Kershaw
  • Lee
  • Lexington
  • Orangeburg
  • Richland
  • Sumter
  • Williamsburg
